Once the files are imported and the transcripts are generated, the first step is always to Assign the Speakers.


By default, any file that you import, will have the various speakers identified and will assign default labels such as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, etc. 

You need to then rename the speaker to their relevant name, and assign a Role of Researcher of Respondent. 



There are 2 options available when Assigning & Editing Speakers:


1. Edit Speaker for all sections

This assigns the name and Role to each part of the transcript where they are speaking.

You can assign an identity to the speaker by adding the name you wish and also their role, Researcher or Respondent.


  • Click Pencil icon/ Edit and choose 'Edit Speaker for all Sections'
  • Add their name
  • Choose Role
  • Click Save/ Pink tick 



2. Edit Speaker for just this section

This will only apply the speakers name to this specific section of the transcript in the case where a part of the transcript has been assigned incorrectly.


  • Click Pencil icon/ Edit and choose 'Edit Speaker for just this section'
  • Change the name of the Speaker 
  • Change the Role if needed 
  • Click Save/ Pink tick
