Although Indeemo is optimised for use via the Indeemo App and allows your respondents a better, more convenient experience, we do understand that some projects will require respondents to use Indeemo on their laptop/ desktop via a browser.


This works well when:

  • You want to give the choice of either using their mobile or desktop depending on what is most natural for the scenario for which you are recruiting them.
  • You are recruiting specifically for projects were respondents using their laptop/ desktop is a requirement (this includes desktop screen recording)
  • You are recruiting for employee experience projects or C-Suite professionals


IMPORTANT! When respondents are not using the Indeemo app, any notifications that are triggered will be sent to respondents via email.


Onboarding respondents via their Browser/ Desktop

The same steps as outlined in the following article will be relevant when onboarding respondents via their Browser Desktop: Inviting & Managing Respondents


IMPORTANT! The only difference is the invite email that Recruiters/ Moderators should send to Respondents with instructions the Respondents need to register to use Indeemo via their browser/ Desktop only: Respondent Invite Email for Browser/ Desktop Users

How to implement Desktop Screen Recording

IMPORTANT! Desktop screen recording can only be used on Google Chrome by installing a Chrome Plug In.


When giving respondents the option to record their desktop screen, it is essential that Respondents do a setup task first so they can ensure they have installed the plug in and the screen recording is working for them.


The below task must be placed as the first task.

  • If you only want to give them the option of installing the plug in (ie, it is not a requirement), make sure you change the language of the task.

Task description

This project will require you to record your screen; please follow the below steps on how to install the Indeemo Chrome plugin for Desktop Screen Recording.

Step 1: Log into Indeemo on your computer

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer and go to the website version of Indeemo - click here:  https://web.indeemo.com/

  2. Log in using the same email and password you are using for the Indeemo mobile app

  3. Once logged in, go to the Task List and find this task again


Step 2: Install the Indeemo Extension

Click here to install the Indeemo Chrome Extension


Step 3: Pin the extension

  1. Now, on your Google Chrome browser, click the extension icon

  2. Pin the extension by clicking this 'pin' icon



Step 4: Do a Test Screen Recording

Giving a respondent who is using the Indeemo App access to Indeemo on their Browser

Sometimes a respondent might ask to have access to Indeemo on their browser.

For example, in case there are any tasks they want to provide longer written answer to.


In those cases, you can provide them with the below:


Log into Indeemo on your computer

  1. On your computer, go to the website version of Indeemo: https://web.indeemo.com/
  2. Log in, using the same email and password you are using for the Indeemo mobile app
  3. Once logged in, go to the Task List

Please note that Indeemo is best viewed on Google Chrome.
