Although the Indeemo App is extremely user friendly; there are some tips we would suggest that should be included in your task list/ task description to ensure the task list is optimised for use in Indeemo and your respondents have a good experience.

Please find some of the most useful below.

Tips for Respondent Technical Queries

The below tip should be included in the Introduction of the Project:

If you have any technical queries, please use the 'Contact Us' section of the app or email support@indeemo.com.

Tips for Video tasks

We recommend including these tips in every task description where a video is required to ensure the task list is optimised for use in Indeemo and your respondents have a good experience.

These tips should be included in tasks requiring:

Video
Tip: Click on ‘View Task List’ so you can see this task as you are recording.
Each video can be max <duration> minutes long however feel free to upload more than one.

Longer video uploads (eg, 10-15 minutes)
Please note that longer videos can take time to fully upload to Indeemo. Please keep the app open to ensure the progress wheel percentage increases and until you see the green ‘Uploaded’ status on each upload.
We would recommend keeping your phone screen active as each video uploads; you can increase how long your screen stays active for in Display sessions on your device.

Tips for Mobile Screen Recording tasks

When using mobile screen recording in your project, we recommend including these tips to ensure the task list is optimised for use in Indeemo and your respondents have a good experience.

These tips should be included:

At the beginning or end of each screen recording task.
To do this activity we’d like you to use the Screen Recording option on Indeemo. To begin your Screen Recording, tap Screen Recording (ensuring to enable your microphone!) and begin your recording.

At the end of each screen recording task.
Tip: Each screen recording can be max <duration> minutes long however feel free to upload more than one.

When the screen recording tasks are repetitive.

Don’t forget to think out loud and narrate your thought process, no detail is too big or too small.

If screen recording is essential for the success of this project, the below task should be positioned as the first task in your task list to weed out any issues from the beginning.

Task Title

Mobile Screen Recording test

Task Description

This task will be a quick one to try out the mobile screen recording on Indeemo with a quick test. This is to ensure you know how to enable your microphone and that everything is working ok on the Indeemo mobile app.

To begin your Screen Recording, tap Screen Recording (ensuring to enable your microphone!) and begin your recording.

Please record a quick screen recording on the Indeemo app on your mobile phone showing us a quick Google search of anything that might interest you (a few seconds is fine).

Please ensure you talk us through this so we can see your microphone works effectively :)

Tips for Sequential Tasking

Tasks can be released to respondents in 1 of 4 different ways; please find the different options available here: Task List Types/ How tasks are released in the App

When using Sequential tasking, the required response can be one required response but can also be a variable of two responses using ‘and’ or ‘or’ logic. E.g.

  • 1 Video
  • 1 Video OR 1 Note
  • 1 Photo AND 1 Video

We recommend including the below tips to ensure the task list is optimised for use in Indeemo and your respondents have a good experience.

These tips should be included:

Type 1) Immediate

In the Introduction

Tasks are sequential, so after you complete Task 1, Task 2 will automatically appear here in the Task List below.

Type 2) Scheduled

In the Introduction

Type 1) Immediate and

Type 2) Scheduled

Don’t forget, in order to see the next task, you must upload the required response - in this case, at least ________.

Type 1) Immediate and

Type 2) Scheduled

When you want to let respondents know they have the option to upload more if they want to.

We have set the minimum required response to ______[eg, 1 video]; however you can upload as much as you want to here so please feel free to upload as many ______ [photos] as you need to.

Privacy Tips (for projects where sensitive personal identifiable information could be visible)

When running projects with Mobile Screen Recording enabled or when asking for Screenshots where banking or sensitive personal identifiable information could be visible, we recommend including tips and warnings against showing you this information.

These tips should be included:

  • At the end of the Introduction after introducing the project and setting context
  • At the end of each task, include the relevant reminder

EXAMPLE:

We will never ask to see the details of your [financial accounts/ personal details]:

  • If we ask you to submit screenshots or photos, please edit the photo and scribble out [account numbers, sort codes and other personal details]. A couple of reminders on how to do this are here (if you have an Apple phone) and here (if you have an Android phone)
  • If we ask you to submit videos, please obscure this type of information with your hands, fingers or maybe some sticky notes.
  • If we ask you to submit screen recordings, please do not record any screen where private, sensitive or personal information is visible.
