Please note that you must combine at least 3 of the below export methods (Excel, Word & Bulk Media) to ensure the full data set is exported.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Please watch the video below for a brief overview and then follow instructions provided for each view.

Bulk Media Export (Project Owner)

The Bulk Media Export is a bulk export of all media (photos, videos, screen recordings) from your project.

Only the project owner will have access to this.

This is only available when fieldwork is over.

  1. Click on Manage Projects at the top right of the screen
  2. Click on the 3 dots to the to the right of the box your project appears in.
  3. Click on the Export media button and choose the target group who’s content you want to export and then click on Request Export.
  4. You will receive an email with the zip files organised by respondent (this can take a few hours to generate).
  5. Project Owners and Moderators can click on the respondent name and it will download a zip file automatically, unzip the file and you will see the media (photos and videos) uploaded by that respondent.
    • IMPORTANT! These links only remain active for 48 hours so please ensure you request these links when you have the time to complete the download.

This bulk media export does not include the captions they uploaded with the media, it only has the media file (photos and videos).

What does the bulk export look like?

The bulk export consists of downloadable links—usually one to two links per respondent, though occasionally there may be three as a new file is created when the size limit (2GB) is reached.

Each link allows you to download a ZIP file for a given respondent.

  • The links are organised by respondent, each link is named (first name, initial of last name).
  • Once downloaded, each Zip file is named (Target group_respondent first name_ last name initial_ respondentID)
  • Then, each file (media file) within the folder is named (task name_responseID)

The response ID can then also be found in the Excel file (column R) to allow you to cross reference the data as needed.

Excel Export

An Excel export includes all written content including respondent Notes, captions, comments, researcher Notes, transcripts, and it also includes the an individual download media link for each photo, video and screen recording.

  1. On the Dashboard view, make sure you have filtered to the information you need to export (for example by Project or Respondent etc) and then click on the Search Icon.
  2. Click on that Export button to the right of the screen and there are 2 options, Export to Word and Export to Excel.
  3. Click on Export to Excel and an excel download will be triggered straight away, usually to your Downloads folder.
